In late February all the American Ministers got together for training. This time we had two Shomyoshi come and help us out with shomyo and service ritual. Though everything was in Japanese, one of the newer Kaikyoshi was able to translate everything.
This is important since we are going to celebrate 100 years of NONA and the Los Angeles Temple. Many visitors from Japan are coming and we all want to show them that even American
Ministers can perform services just as well as the Japanese.
At first the Shomyoshi were concerned that we were all conducting service as individuals and the ceremony was not in harmony. As the weekend progressed and through their assistance, everyone slowly began to work together. By the time of the final rehearsal, all ministers were moving with one spirit and action. The Shomyoshi were very surprised how fast we were all able to adjust and display harmony. This is “itaidoshin”, moving with one spirit. If we try, we all can be in harmony with each other.
